A spectacular trek to Machu Picchu along the Salkantay trail
Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Inca, is one of the most beautiful and enigmatic sites of the ancient world. In 2007, the city was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and in recent years Machu Picchu trips have become extremely popular with adventurous travellers. A test of endurance with a stunning reward, trekking Machu Picchu is an experience beyond compare.
Participants will get the opportunity to trek into the famous site via the Salkantay route, a far quieter and less-trodden route than the typical Inca Trail. The really plus points of this trek is the different types of terrain the challenge takes you through. From the foothills of the Andean mountains, into the high pass of the Salkantay mountain pass (4650m) then decending down into the coffee plantation regions and the more familiar images of Machu Picchu and its surrounding semi-jungle environment. This really is one of the most spectacular trekking experiences we offer. A challenge to Machu Picchu will be like no other.
