Hiking in China along the famous Great Wall

The Great Wall of China is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is a staggering 5,500 miles long, and one of the few man-made structures visible from low orbit. Stretching from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, the Great Wall of China is arguably the most expansive man-made structure ever built. This means that, although hiking in China may be challenging, the rewards are spectacular, and the memory of a trip to the Great Wall will stay with you forever.

Visit Beijing while hiking in China

As well as the Great Wall tour, our challenge itinerary also includes a day in Beijing, the Chinese capital city. The trip takes in the city’s wide range of historic buildings, from ancient dynastic pagodas through to the recently constructed Olympic Stadium. You’ll also get to visit the local neighbourhoods of old Beijing, otherwise known as Hutongs, which gives you an idea of what daily life is like for the residents of this bustling city.
